I found it very difficult to deal with my insurer because they were not listening to me and my concerns. They closed my file and imposed an unreasonable return to work plan. I knew very well that I was not ready for a return to work and would not succeed if I adhered to their proposed return to work plan.
Mabel genuinely listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. She promptly returned my calls and kept me abreast on progress of my appeal. Mabel is very knowledgeable in her field and that became very apparent in how she dealt with my claim. Because of her expertise she devised an alternative case management plan that put my mind at ease and I knew that I was in good hands. Not only did she win my appeal, but the insurer reopened my claim in just a month and followed her recommendation!
As a result of the actions taken on her case management plan, not only did I not have to immediately return to work, my claim was approved for two more years! This allowed me to focus on my recovery without having to feel pressured to return to work. I didn’t have to deal with the insurer because Mabel dealt with them directly and that relieved me of a lot of stress and anxiety.
She truly cared about me and has gone above and beyond my expectations. Thank you for winning my appeal and being so instrumental in getting me two more years of benefits!!!

The insurance company rejected my LTD claim and I couldn’t make heads or tails of why my claim was refused. I was working sporadic hours due to my medical illness and when I did submit my LTD claim, they said I was no longer a full-time employee and didn’t qualify for benefits. Turned out I should’ve claimed for benefits when I stopped working full-time. They said even if they were to back-date my date of disability, then I would still be disqualified for benefits, because that meant my claim was submitted past the claiming deadline. It seemed I couldn’t win either way!
The insurance company was being so unreasonable and just kept saying they were sticking to the policy. But fortunately, I found Mabel and she somehow convinced the case worker to accept my claim. With Mabel, I did win!

My disability claim was rejected by ***Life because they didn’t believe I was really disabled. My doctor couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me so he couldn’t give them a diagnosis. I couldn’t do my job with the amount of pain I was in, and it didn’t help that there were long waits in the medical system for testing and specialist appointments. Without a pay check coming in and no financial support, things were pretty desperate.
A family member put me in contact with Mabel. She agreed to help me and got to work immediately. She got in touch with my doctor and she even spoke to my employer to see if they would agree to pay for a private MRI. With Mabel’s help I got the medical results, and with this information she was able to file an appeal on my behalf. We won the appeal, and Mabel even got the insurance company to agree to send me for an expedited private consultation with a surgeon.
Mabel is extremely caring and supportive and saved me from a very desperate situation.

I would like to thank Mabel Mardell for the help I received with my disability claim. I was initially concerned with the time line for appealing my claim because I was denied previously. Mabel reassured me that there was still time to appeal which she helped me do. After which I was denied again, Mabel went above and beyond and helped me reapply for appeal.
With her help in as little as six weeks I was reinstated with my disability payments. I would highly recommend Mabel if requiring an advocates help. Thank you.

Nadine (client’s wife) and I are very honored to be on your team. You have done much more work and achieved more for us than any other family member, friend, advocate, whether called to ‘the bar’ or otherwise. We not only feel grateful and indebted to you but also very appreciative of your skills and knowledge.
